We have begun to create a list of the Baptisms at church; the archives go back a very long way, so it will be a big job. We have made a start with the most recent, and will work our way backwards,
Some of the files contain baptisms at Marishes that have to be recorded in the register of the "mother" church.
They are listed by Baptism date, which is not always close to birth date.
To search for a name in a file, CTRL +F and enter a name in the search box
Please note, this is a work in progress!

GREGORIAN CALENDAR
Pope Gregory XIII's reform, proclaimed in 1582, restored the calendar to the seasonal dates of 325CE. The previous Julian Calendar has been gradually abandoned in favour of the Gregorian calendar, but Great Britain continued to use the Julian Calendar, ending on 21st March annually, until 1752.
Great Britain adopted the reformed Gregorian calendar in 1752, when the "year" started on 22nd March and ended on
31st December annually thereafter. In 1752, 2nd September was followed by 14th September in parity with the rest of Europe.
JULIAN CALENDAR
The Julian calendar was proposed in 46 BC by Julius Caesar as a reform of the earlier Roman Calendar. It took effect on 1 January 45 BC, by his edict. Caesar's calendar became the predominant calendar in the Roman Empire and subsequently most of the Western World for more than 1,600 years, until 1582 when Pope Gregory XIII promulgated a revised calendar. The "year" end was on the vernal equinox of 21" March annually.
